Dr. Buccheri-Zappi is Board Certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and the Brazilian Academy of Dermatology.
She was born in São Paulo, Brazil where she completed her medical school at the Catholic University of Campinas followed by a residency in dermatology at the University of São Paulo.

Continuing her medical education she came to New York in 1992 where she did a fellowship in nail disorders at Colombia Presbyterian Medical Center and a clinical research in psoriasis at Beth Israel Medical Center.
At Albert Einstein School of Medicine she completed her residency in dermatology in USA. Currently, she is a clinical attending in dermatology at Albert Einstein School of Medicine - Montefiore Medical Center.
She is married to Dr. Eugene G. Zappi, who is a dermatologist as well. They work together at their office in Manhattan.
Dr. Buccheri-Zappi speaks Portuguese, Italian and Spanish.
